Issue coordination
You can offer to coordinate an issue for the journal. To do so, send us your project, including the desired issue’s theme and call for papers (less than 500 words) in French, English and Spanish. Articles will have to comply with the journal’s rules and norms.
Publication formats and types
The journal is open to several publication types and formats.
Knowledge syntheses and systematic literature reviews
This type of article provides an overview of publications related to a specific issue. Similarly to other articles, the problem, selection method, selected analysis aspects and results must be detailed. However, a theoretical framework is not necessarily presented. In this regard, the problem can simply be exposed in the introduction.
Length: between 3000 and 6000 words (titles, abstracts, reference list and appendices excluded). Appendices should not exceed 3 pages in total.
Person in charge: Valérie Psyché, professor, Université TÉLUQ
Research articles
This type of article reports completely or partially on a research project which follows the scientific approach including its results. Similarly to other scientific articles, one expects an introduction, literature review, methodology section, results, discussion of results and conclusion which sums up the main ideas. The problem can be exposed at the end of the introduction or at the end of the literature review as pertinent.
Length: between 4000 and 6500 words (titles, abstracts, reference list and appendices excluded). Appendices should not exceed 3 pages in total.
Person in charge: Cathia Papi, professor, Université TÉLUQ
Student work syntheses
This type of article presents a synthesis of works produced in the context of graduate degree essays, seminars or reports as shared by students to the scientific community. As much as possible, it is recommended that the work be presented following the guidelines provided for traditional scientific articles. Proof that the article has been read by the research supervisor is expected alongside submission.
Length: between 1500 and 4500 words (titles, abstracts, reference list and appendices excluded). Appendices should not exceed 3 pages in total.
Person in charge: Isabelle Savard professor, Université TÉLUQ
Practitioner articles
This type of article describes approach implementations, experimentations, observations, practices, case studies, training evaluations, etc. It is expected that authors will present the context, important questions or issues (problem) which have led to the implementation of an approach or practice, a description of the approach or practice (method, data collection instructions), results (observation data) and discussions (impacts, recommendations, future research questions).
Length: between 1000 and 3000 words (titles, abstracts, reference list and appendices excluded). Appendices should not exceed 3 pages in total.
Person in charge: Serge Gérin-Lajoie, professor, Université TÉLUQ
Discussions and debates
This type of article presents a reflection on underlying questions, generally related to current events, or a critical analysis of ancient texts. It invites the development of reflections, proposes nuances, potentially calls current representations into question, or criticizes policies, practices and research in an argumentative way, etc. This type of article can be in the form of a written piece, an interview, a picture, a recorded audio, a video, etc.
Length: between 500 and 3000 words for written pieces (titles, summaries and reference list excluded), between 3 and 45 minutes for audio and video files
Person in charge: Patrick Plante, professor, Université TÉLUQ
Testimonials and interviews
This type of article offers a platform for professionals or known experts related to specific fields of research. In interview articles, it is suggested that a short introduction to introduce the interviewee as well as a conclusion be included. For testimonials, the article should first be placed into context; then, a section representing the testimonials is to be included such as through a series of questions and answers. Finally, a last section should be included with reflection questions the authors wish to highlight and that aim to answer the questions exposed in the first section of the article.
Length: between 1000 and 4000 words for written pieces (titles, summaries and reference list excluded) or between 5 and 45 minutes for audio or video files.
Person in charge: Gustavo Adolfo Angulo Mendoza, professor, Université TÉLUQ
Reading notes
This type of article offers a critical summary of a publication. It is expected that that the publication will be presented, and its contents summarized while presenting its contributions to the field and criticizing them in view of highlighting their worth and limits. Such notes can be in the form of a written piece, an audio recording or a video.
Length: between 700 and 2500 words for written pieces (titles, summaries and reference list excluded) or between 3 and 20 minutes for audio or video files.
Person in charge: Marilyn Baillargeon, professor, Université TÉLUQ
